The newsletter quoted the Times' citations of Alethea's research, noting the firm has spent the year identifying a large volume of AI-generated content, state media articles, and social posts pushing anti-data center narratives. CNN also reiterated the Times' finding that the motive behind this content isn't always political, describing that some actors are chasing clicks and shares rather than any ideological goal, and quoting Alethea analyst McKenzie Sadeghi describing that subset as "rural rage bait."
